Kansas
Herbaceous, Red, Double, Midseason, Fragrant, Award Winner, Classic, 85cm, 34”
This old-fashioned favourite sports large double, rose-shaped flowers that have been described as carmine, fuschia and even watermelon! However you might see them, these vibrant red blooms won’t fade in the sun. Kansas is a great cut flower with strong stems and a lovely fragrance. Heat tolerant too. Did very well despite weather problems in past years. I really like this peony. American Peony Society Gold Medal 1957 & APS Grand Champion National Exhibitions 1950, (Bigger 1940)
